Started in 1998, the BCV 24H is an annual ski race, sponsored by Jacques Villeneuve and Craig Pollock.
BCV24h Villars 2008
This year's 10th anniversary event takes place on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 January 2008 in the Swiss ski resort of Villars. Sponsors this year include gold sponsor Banque CantonalE Vaudoise (BCV), TAG Heuer, Audi and AMAG and the benficiary charities are:
• Teenage Cancer Trust - devoted to improving the lives of teenagers and young adults with canc
• L'Association ‘Patouch’ - a charity for the prevention of violence against children
Volunteers needed
BC24h Villars is seeking volunteers to help out at the event, mainly race marshalls to help with course-control and security. We are especially keen to hear from volunteers to help during the night for duty shifts of up to 4 hours. As a volunteer you will be provided with accommodation at the ‘Protection Civile’ in Villars, a free ski-pass for the weekend of the event and a goody-bag (including the official cap of the event, the Saturday evening concert and a T-shirt). GP24h Villars 2007
The 2007 ski race attracted 900 amateur sportsmen, women and children racing in relay teams round the clock for 24 hours. The Kids'24 programme was one of the new initiatives this year, allowing children to take part in the ski race for the first time. Three charities benefited from chf 270,000 raised during the event; chf 90,000 each and they were:
• The Foundation Theodora - making life better for children in hospital or specialist institutions
• The Anthony Nolan Trust - providing clinical services to find the best match for bone marrow transplant patients
• USACDE - helping children who suffer from a chronic illness or handicap to regularly take part in physical exercise

The 2006 ski race (the 8th edition of the GP24Hour) took place on the ski pistes of Bretaye under blue skies and bright sunshine. Jacques Villeneuve and Craig Pollock were joined by Paul Stewart and a number of other stars of Formula 1, skiing, cycling, sailing and show-biz including the Team Alinghi, World Champion fencing Philippe May, footballer Von Siebenthal, and skiers Chantal Bournissen & Xavier Gigandet. 780 participants in categories Open, School and Paralympic made up 106 teams of 4-6 racing in relay and accumulating 6635 pistes during the day and an amazing 10'029 descents of the night piste under a beautiful full moon. The event set a new record - 48,372 kilometres were skied and with sponsorship for every kilometre, a grand total of 350,000 Swiss francs was raised to benefit the charity associations selected by Jacques Villenueve and Formula Charity for 2006. These were:
Disability Snowsport - gives hanicapped people the chance to experience winter sports
Cœur Pour Tous - provide life-saving cardiac surgery to children from developing countries
Fondation Lionel Perrier - to improve the quality of life of patients suffering from brain tumours
