Marcus Brigstocke and Andrew Maxwell are bringing you the second Altitude Festival in Meribel between the 28th March and the April 3rd 2009.

The first festival was attended by over 14,000 people who enjoyed superb powder skiing by day and fabulous entertainment at night. Marcus and Andrew are claiming the it’s best après ski ever!

Les trois vallees is host to the only festival of its kind. In the heart of the French Alps - and the largest skiing area in the world - this is a incredible mix of some of the best UK, French and international comics, stellar DJ’s and some great established and up and coming bands. One of the seasons festivals certainly shouldn’t be missed.

Acts scheduled to take part this year include KT Tunstall, Phill Jupitus, Marcus Brigstocke, Ardal O’hanlon, Russel Howard, Dave Goreman, Andrew Maxwell and if.comedy winner Phil Nichol. Altitude will be staging comedy shows in French and English simulatneously – the only festival in the world to offer this feat of linguistic ingenuity!

And there’s more. Ski all day in the beautiful warm spring conditions, catch an acoustic gig up a mountain (and sometimes in a gondola), watch a comedy film, ski down into the main stage area and enjoy some of the most exciting Snow Sport events of the season. The British national Ski Championships are happening in Meribel at the same time as Altitude and Boarder X and Big Air competitions, which attract pros from around the world, follow. Don’t forget the three legged ski races, snowball fights and expression sessions.

The festival is also has a strong environmental ambition aiming to be one of the first carbon neutral festivals around the world. Meribel’s ski lifts are powered hydro electrically and guests are being encouraged to travel to the festival by train. The nearest station to Meribel is Brides des Bains and is about twenty minutes in a cable car or taxi away from the resort. Getting to Meribel isn’t difficult!
