Dolomiti Mountain Resort Opens in China 31-08-08

China’s Dolomiti Mountain Resort has been officially opened following the completion of stage one of construction. The resort is situated near Chongli, 218 kilometres north of Beijing, and is the first Chinese resort to be created by a South Tyrolean company. The Italian Leitner ski lift company have worked alongside the Marzola brothers – whose father founded the Dolomiti Superski ski area, and the government of the Hebei Province in which the resort is situated.

Following a typically colourful set of Chinese opening celebrations, a friendship agreement was signed at a formal reception between the provincial province of Bozen in Italy and the municipal authority of Zhangjiakou – the province’s administrative organ.

Despite the opening, there is much work still to do, with a vast number of hotels, bungalows and leisure facilities scheduled to be built, as well as six more ski lifts and 17 kilometres of ski trails.
