Good Snow Allows Whistler to Open Early 28-10-08
Whistler Blackcomb snowmaking manager, Jodie McCutcheon, said, ‘We’ve been blasting every snow gun on the two mountains to add to what Mother Nature has deposited in the past few weeks. Grooming staff have been working to manicure the snow to make for some great corduroy skiing and riding on opening weekend.’
The 2008/09 season will see the opening of the Peak2Peak gondola, set to be officially opened on December 12th. Whistler Blackcomb’s senior vice president of sales and marketing, Stuart Rempel, said, ‘The 2008/2009 season is finally upon is, and we’re gearing up for Whistler Blackcomb’s most exciting season yet. With the PEAK 2 PEAK Gondola grand opening set for December 12, and the one year countdown to the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games taking place in February, we’re thrilled to kick this season off and start skiing!’
