New Flights Launched to the Pyrenees 19-10-08

Spanish company Pyrenair have launched a new winter flight route from London Gatwick to the Spanish Pyrenees. Following the opening of the new regional airport of Huesca, journey time to Spain’s largest winter resort of Formigal has now been slashed dramatically. The flights begin on Sunday 21st December and will operate on the following sixteen Sundays. The flight takes roughly two hours, whilst the subsequent transfer takes around an hour and a quarter. Significantly, there will be no extra baggage costs or restraints, whilst passengers are promised a quick turnaround once at Huesca airport.

Formigal has been the subject of heavy investment in recent years, with an estimated £80 million poured into the resort. With 137km of open pistes in total, the resort has the reputation for being a well run modern resort popular amongst Spanish weekend skiers, meaning the pistes are virtually empty during the week.
