Park City Forced to Postpone Season Start 22-11-08

Park City Mountain Resort will not open today as planned following a spell of warm, dry weather. The resort has been unable to produce as much artificial snow as hoped, with overnight temperatures typically hovering between 40 and 50 degrees Fahrenheit. With the latest ten day forecast offering no signs of lower temperatures, the resort has decided to push back its opening date.

An estimated 72 hours of sub-20 degree temperatures are required to allow the resort to create optimal conditions on the mountain’s lowest runs. However, with just one storm cycle required to kick start the resort’s season, there is still plenty of time for Park City to recover from the current lull.
