Montafon Accommodation

Montafon has a wide range of accommodation from reasonably priced 4-star hotels to self catering apartments in the 11 ski resort villages along the 39km long Montafon valley. These are at altitudes between 650m and 1450m.

Accordingly, where you stay depends on which Montafon ski area appeals to you most, whether you prefer to be staying in town, a quiet village or ski-in, ski-out, mountainside accommodation and, last but not least, your budget.

In total there are 18,000 guest beds including 2,400 beds in thirty 4-star hotels and around 1,500 beds in thirty 3-star hotels. Expect to pay around EUR 95-125 or EU70-80 per person per night for a double room with ensuite bathroom, half board, in 4-star and 3-star hotels respectively.

Expect to pay a premium of between 10-20% to stay higher up the valley in Gargellen or Gaschurn and bear in mind that hotels higher up the valley have many regular guests returning each year so it helps to book early, peak periods especially.

The vast majority of hotels are family owned with between 40 and 100 beds each. Besides the main hotels, there are more than a 1,000 other properties throughout the Montafon valley ranging from small guesthouse/hotels to private pension and self-catering apartments.

Wherever you stay, your host should provide you with a Montafon guest card on arrival which allows access to various tourism services free of charge or at reduced prices.
