Skiers and boarders in search of chutes, cirques, and epic mogul fields will be disappointed. Only six per cent of Söll’s terrain is said to be suitable for advanced skiers. There are 26.5 km of “ski routes” which are never groomed. Some of the toughest and steepest skiing can be found on the homeward bound runs on the Söll side of Hohe Salve. The three kilometre run down to the new Hexen6er (correct spelling) six-seater chairlift is one of the most challenging. At Brixen, “Kaslach”, a two-kilometre black run from near the middle station down to the village is also challenging. At Scheffau, another black run for stronger skiers and boarders to get their teeth into runs from the top station in Scheffau (Brandstadl) down to the middle station (Neualm). Westendorf boasts the black 1.5 km “Chor” run from the Alpenrose lift.
