Banff Lake Louise Accommodation

Banff offers a good choice of accommodations including 3-star to 5-star hotels, motels, lodges, B&B and a hostel. There's a similarly good choice of hotels at Lake Louise whereas Sunshine has just one property.

For high end accommodation in Banff try the 5-star Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel or the 4-star Fox Hotel and Suites - both are 10-minutes walk or free shuttle bus ride from the centre of Banff Town - or the 4-star Buffalo Mountain Hotel slopeside on Tunnel Mountain which is a short drive from Banff.

Cheaper still is the reasonably priced 3-star Brewsters Mountain Lodge in the centre of Banff Town. There are plenty of other lodgings options including B&Bs, motels, and lodges to suit all pockets in Banff town. There’s even a winter camping site offering tent and trailer lodging.

There's a good choice of accommodations in and around Lake Louise village, only a 10-minute driving distance from the Lake Louise Ski Area. At the top end of the spectrum in the centre of Lake Louise is the luxurious Post Hotel and one of the best wine cellars in Canada.

The 5-star Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise on the shoreline of Lake Louise in front of the Victoria Glacier is a vast Victorian pile. Sumptuous it may be but pretty it isn’t. However, it’s not as expensive as it looks and group bookings can be attractively priced.

Other good quality accommodations in Lake Louise include the 4-star Deer Lodge and 3-star Lake Louise Inn, both are a just a 5-minutes walk from the Lake. In contrast, the International Youth Hostel has dorms, double rooms, a library and veggie café.

Sunshine’s only accommodation is the ski-in, ski-out Sunshine Inn.
