In addition to the ESF and the Compagnie des Guides, there are many smaller, specialist ski and snowboarding schools.

As you would expect, there are many different options to choose from for instruction and guiding here. Aside from the ESF and the Compagnie des Guides, which has been in operation for over 150 years, there are many smaller, specialist outfits. Evolution 2 run a very tight ship and have a private nursery lift at La Vormaine; they drive beginners from Chamonix town to Le Tour as soon as they are ready to leave the introductory nursery slopes. For guiding, Mountain Tracks are a particularly professional outfit.
