The best area for beginners is the so-called "evolution zone" near Courchevel 1850.

The best area for beginners is near 1850 next to the altiport at Pralong. Recent improvements at this so-called "evolution zone" have seen new lifts and rope tows specially designed for beginners. From here there are a few gentle blues to progress on to and the runs down underneath Verdons are also very gentle greens but can be a bit daunting with faster traffic coming through. There is another good nursery network above 1650. The lower villages have some nursery slopes but the best snow is definitely higher up the mountain.
