Apart from the ESF, La Clusaz has specialist schools for snowboarding and off-piste guiding (in English).
The ESF (www.esf-laclusaz.com) with its 150 instructors is the
longest established ski school in La Clusaz offering group or private
lessons to both skiers and boarders.
Snow-Academie
(www.snow-board.com) is a small school specialising in snowboard
instruction and has some interesting courses on offer. Children joining
the discovery lessons are guaranteed two instructors with a maximum 10
in a class.
Aravis Challenge (www.aravis-challenge.com) is a
small, friendly ski school owned and run by Yann, the ex World-Cup mogul
skier, and Freddy Quenet who have spent their lives exploring these
mountains. Specializing in off-piste guiding and small group tuition
for both skiers and boarders the English speaking guides and
instructors will take you to the best snow and terrain.
The Bureau des Guides is the other local organisation for off-piste skiing and climbing.
