La Grave Beginner Skiing

La Grave is no place for beginners, but there are nursery slopes and ski schools in nearby La Chazelet and Col du Lautaret.
 
It is extremely rare for a ski area to have no nursery slopes, but this is one. Beginners should not really come anywhere near La Grave except to sit on a restaurant balcony in the village and admire the view. There is a ski school just over three miles away at La Chazelet, and more nursery slopes at Villa d’Arène and the Col du Lautaret. And occasionally, at the end of the week, promising beginners are allowed to take a run or two on the main two runs in La Grave with their instructor.
