La Grave Getting There

Lyon is just over 100 miles away from La Grave, and Chambéry 82 miles. Geneva is just under 150 miles. Grenoble has frequent train connections with all major French towns and a TGV link with Paris. There’s a shuttle bus service (1 hour 45 mins) from Grenoble-Saint Geoirs, and a taxi link.

Coming by car from Grenoble, you take main road (RN 91) towards Briançon, through Bourg d’Oisans. At the Chambon dam, you’ll get a wonderful view of La Meije. Carry on up the valley, and the village is another six miles. From Briançon drive towards Grenoble. After crossing the Col de Lautaret (sometimes closed in winter) La Grave is a further five miles.

La Grave’s slopes can also be accessed (only by skiers who know what they’re doing, preferably with a guide) from the neighbouring resort of Les Deux Alpes.
