Ski instruction mainly takes place at Le Chazelet and Lautaret. A number of guides live and work in La Grave.

There is a ski school with 16 teachers who teach mainly at Le Chazelet and Lautaret but sometimes take skiers to La Grave to ski from 3200 metres (top of telepherique, but not on the glacier). Intermediates and even beginners (after a week of instruction) can ski a run or two on Chancel or Vallons de la Meije. A number of guides live and work in the village.
