Meribel Après-Ski

Many of Meribel's vibrant bars and clubs are English-run and rather expensive although this is more down to exchange rates than profiteering.

From February onwards, Le Rond Point is the place to be after skiing in Meribel. The sun terrace is always packed and most days there is a live band.

The Cactus Cafe at Chaudanne is also popular and shows live sports on the big screen. The nearby Jacks is popular with seasoners both afternoon and evening, has friendly staff shows internation sport on wide screens.  Jacks looks out over the heated pool.

In the village itself, the Taverne has happy hour and the cheapest pitchers in town from 5-7. This area is the also the epicentre of the bar scene later on, with the other English-run bars of Le Pub and Scotts also popular. Barometer is also well worth a visit.

One of the only French bars left in the village is La Poste, a cosy bar offering local red ales and Kir Royales at regal prices. The bars stay open until 1am (you'll have missed the last bus if you're staying in Mottaret) and there are also two clubs, the English-run and very expensive Dicks Tea Bar and the more laid-back Loft - French-run, Euro-disco style and popular with seasoners.

Rastros is still the most lively bar in Mottaret, especially on Tuesdays when it is 70s night. Le Zig Zag brings a taste of Austrian Jagartee to the proceedings. The Downtown bar is popular with the locals.
