Tignes is a massive place and the best way to utilise your time there is by improving your skiing and learning where the best runs are located. The E.S.F. (École du Ski Français) have four schools throughout the different levels of Tignes which are well run and can provide English speaking instructors for either skiing or snowboarding. Evolution 2 also offers English speaking instructors, private or group lessons and a variety of other snow related sports. Snocool, Surf Feeling and Kebra Surfing are all specialist snowboard schools.
If you haven’t skied in Tignes before then it is advisable to get a guide. Also look out for postings of the day’s avalanche risk, rated on a scale of 1 (least) to 5 (most dangerous).
