Monterosa Ski Schools & Guiding

All Monterosa ski villages have good ski and snowboard schools with English speaking instructors. Group and private lessons are available in both skiing and boarding. Some schools offer telemark skiing and most offer guiding services.

Group ski lessons in Champoluc, Gressoney and Alagna take place in the mornings, and though courses normally last for 5 consecutive days, fewer days may be booked if required.

Monterosa ski school lessons start on a Monday and last between 2 and 3 hours per day, depending on the resort and level of skier. Booking lessons in advance is recommended for all resorts, especially at peak or quiet times of the season.

Private lessons cost from €30 for an hour’s lesson for one person. Prices vary according to how many people take part in the lesson, time of day and season.

For advice, lessons or a day of guiding in the area with an expert local ski and board instructor contact Giorgio Bisotti Email: giorgio@echotravel.co.uk who offers a day of guiding for €295 per group.

Monterosa Mountain Guides
It is essential to use the guides when exploring the many off piste itineraries in the Monterosa area. The necessary safety equipment, including harnesses for glacier itineraries, avalanche beacons, shovels and probes can be provided, and several ski shops hire skis with skins and touring bindings – ideal for off piste days that might involve an hour or two uphill.

Many of the ski schools have professional Alpine Guides among their staff and enquiries can be made in their offices. Alternatively the following organizations offer guiding services which include off-piste, free-ride, ski touring and heli ski itineraries.
