The Ski Resorts of Wyoming

Few places in the world can match the picturesque splendor of Wyoming. Home to Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks, the Cowboy State has scenery that is sure to take your breath away, authentic wild west bars (complete with bullet-holes and saddle-barstools), and some pretty darn good skiing.

Jackson Hole Mountain Resort

One of the most challenging ski resorts in the world, Jackson Hole Mountain Resort has long been a mecca for freeskiers, powder-lovers, and adrenaline junkies. But with a world-class base village, luxurious accommodations and a surprising amount of beginner and intermediate terrain, JHMR is also an excellent choice for families. Don’t misunderstand, however. JHMR is still home to the most terrifying terrain in North America. Expert skiers come from far and wide to test their meddle on America’s most famous ski run – Corbett’s Couloir. As one ski patrol put it, “see you at the bottom…one way or another.”

Grand Targhee

One of America’s best-kept secrets Grand Targhee can be summed up in a word – POWDER. With 500” of annual snowfall, there are plenty of powder days to be had all season long. A small base village offers a convenient lodging option, but many skiers prefer to spend their week at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort and hop the Targhee Express over for a day at this powder playground.

Getting There

Getting to Wyoming is easy. Most visitors access the Teton region via Jackson Hole Airport. The airport is conveniently located less than 20 minutes from downtown Jackson, 30 minutes from Teton Village, and an hour from Grand Targhee.

Two alternate airports are also available. Some visitors also fly into Salt Lake City International Airport and drive the 4-4.5 hrs north into the Tetons. Others fly into Idaho Springs, some 90 miles west of the Wyoming-Idaho border.
