Truckee is 6 miles (9.6 km) away, on Highway 267. The nearest international airports are Reno/Tahoe, Sacramento, and San Francisco. Via Interstate 80, Reno is 40 miles (64 km) east (45 minutes), Sacramento is 110 miles (177 km) west (1 hour 45 minutes), and San Francisco is 195 miles (314 km) west (3 hours 30 minutes).

Amtrak (www.amtrak.com) has rail services and Greyhound (www.greyhound.com) has bus services to Truckee. Call 800-466-6784 24 hours in advance and you’ll get a free shuttle to Northstar. To arrange transfer from Reno/Tahoe International Airport call Executive Limo (800-323-3958) or Tahoe Truckee Taxi (888-881-TAXI). Alternatively, you can rent a car, for although the complimentary on-site shuttle transportation eliminates the need to drive once you arrive at Northstar, a car will make it easier to explore the other Lake Tahoe resorts.
