At the mountain base there’s just one slopeside hotel: the Inn at the Mountain, which also has condos, near the Toll House lift.

All other accommodations—around 60 options, including hotels, houses and apartments—are spread along Mountain Road that connects the town and the resort road, or are found in Stowe itself. The most famous hotel is the Trapp Family Lodge (www.trappfamily.com), about 4 miles (6.4 km) out of town on Trapp Hill Road and home to the "Sound of Music" family. For maximum Stowe atmosphere and the easiest access to nightlife, stay in town; unless you’re right at the foot of the mountain at the Inn, you’ll have to travel to the slopes each day anyway. There are around a dozen options in Stowe village including the attractive Green Mountain Inn (www.greenmountaininn.com) on Main Street.
