What’s new for 2008-09?
To further improve the Station Mont Tremblant experience for skiing and snowboarding guests, the resort is improving one of its runs, acquiring two new high performance grooming machines, developing an exciting calendar of events that promises to add even more atmosphere to the pedestrian village as well as the slopes, pursuing the Versant Soleil development to add further value to its tourist offering and, after a highly first successful season, will once again offer direct flights from Toronto and New York City.

To enhance the skier and boarder experience right from season opening, there’ll be deeper snow cover on the Nansen run thanks to modification of a section of the water pipes and relocation of the snow guns. Some areas of the run have been widened to facilitate skier traffic and to make the Nansen even safer.

The resort now has two brand new grooming machines, one of them a Bison, which is faster and therefore more productive. Snow park fans have been considered, as well, and the other new grooming machine, the Bison X, is specifically designed for snow park use. Its increased mobility will permit improved snow park grooming, which is sure to make park users happy.

Turning to development, Loto Québec made an announcement in spring 2008 confirming the opening of a Casino on the Versant Soleil instead of a Ludoplex, but will still open the doors of the new facility in summer 2009. The Casino will give Tremblant a sizable advantage in terms of attracting tourist and corporate clients to choose Tremblant as their destination of choice. The Casino will cater mainly to the resort property owners, conventions and conferences, and vacationers.

The same applies to the new gondola that will link the Versant Sud to the Versant Soleil. It will come online at the same time as the Casino, in summer 2009. And finally, to respond to increased demand for this new face of the mountain, a new beginners’ slope will be built, from the summit to the Versant Soleil base, opening for the 2009-2010 season.
