Soldeu has good hotel accommodation for those seeking 4-star or even 5-star hotel comforts and dominated by the Calbo family’s three Sport Hotels at the foot of the cable car.

The 4-star Sport Hotel at the foot of the Soldeu cable car is built in the style of a classic mountain lodge in wood and stone with 160 bedrooms. It’s basic but good quality (half board from 70-120 euros pp per day). Slightly upmarket but still 4-star is the Sport Hotel Village which is also right next to the cable car and has 148 bedrooms of which 25 have their own Jacuzzi. The hotel also has its own pool and great views of the slopes (half board 80-130 euros pp per day).

The Sport Hotel Hermitage is Soldeu’s 5-star treat and probably the best ski hotel in Andorra. Rooms are sumptuous with pillows and cushions everywhere, flat screen TV and idiosyncratic lighting (fine as long as you don’t lose anything on the floor!) The hotel has two very good restaurants making half board a real pleasure and access to the Sport Wellness Centre. Guests will have to pay 12 euros for flip-flops for spa access, so make sure you bring your own (half board 130-180 euros pp per day).

Outside the Calbo empire you might consider 4-star Ahotels Piolets and 4-star Ahotels Piolets Park & Spa, a hotel and residential complex whose rates start at 73 euros pp per night, and situated just 50m and 150m respectively from the Soldeu cable car. Or there’s the Hotel Himalaia and Hotel Naudi, both are 4-star hotels and similarly close to Soldeu cable car.
