Kitzbuhel Ski Resort accommodation
Kitzbuhel / Accommodation
In such a straggling resort, visitors prefer accommodation to be
either convenient (near the lifts, and close to the main cablecar, the
Hahnekammbahn, in particular) or picturesque (but inevitably expensive)
in or close to the town centre. There are more than 5,800 beds – nearly
8,670 if you include the “satellite” resorts of Kirchberg and Jochberg.
There are upmarket hotels aplenty but some are cheap and cheerful too.
The Tennerhof is a beautifully converted barn where a tenner will buy
you very little. The Tiefenbrunner is less pretentious with an
excellent restaurant and generous helpings. The Zur Tenne is right in
the centre, with a popular nightclub, but pricey. The modern
glass-fronted restaurant is stylish and the perfect place to watch the
world passing in the main street, Vorderstadt. In spite of its central
position, the Sporthotel Reisch has magnificent mountain views.
Goldener Grief in the town centre offers 4-star comfort in a
traditional style and the recently upgrade Astron (favoured by the
Austrian National Ski Team) offers good value 4-star accommodation in a
more modern style (with swimming pool) just a 5-minute walk from the
town centre. There are many cheaper but recommended guesthouses and bed
& breakfasts. The three-star Pension Rosengarten is conveniently
close to the Hahnenkammbahn, and the three-star Pension Rainhof is next
to the Kitzbüheler Horn cable car.
