St Anton Ski Resort Ski schools & guiding

St Anton Ski Schools & Mountain Guiding

St. Anton takes great pride in the reputation of its ski schools, not least because the famous skier Hannes Schneider, born in neighbouring Stuben in 1890, pioneered downhill ski technique.

Arlberg Ski School www.skischool-arlberg.com, whose 300 instructors are recognizable by their blue and yellow suits, was the first ski school in the resort. Lessons range from beginner to expert level for both skiers and boarders, in groups of 8-12 or privately for individuals or smaller groups. The smaller Franz Klimmer Ski School www.skistanton.com, with 60 instructors, offers group or private courses for all levels of skier and snowboarder. Both schools offer extremely high standards of tuition at all levels and the vast majority of instructors speak English as well as German.

Guiding in the Arlberg
Off piste mountain guiding company Piste to Powder is owned and run by Graham Austick, a mountain guide with years of experience in the Arlberg. Specializing in off-piste guiding and tuition for individuals joining a group of 1-7 or for private bookings, he and his small team will guide you to the best snow and terrain. See also our extensive Arlberg Off-Piste section for detailed information about skiing between the pistes, off the back and ski touring.
