Neustift offers the most possibilities with many four-stars
complete with wellness centers and spas. The Jagdhof, a splendid five-star
property, won the 2005 Spa of the Year from Relais & Chateaux. The
three-star Hotel Christoph is outside Neustift proper with some
spacious rooms, sauna and basic food. Staying in Fulpmes is convenient
for skiing Schlick 2000, but it makes the journey to the glacier a
longer affair. If you want to be nearest to the glacier skiing, located
near the foot of the gondola, the Happy Stubai and Alpenhof offer the
closest options, apart from the on-mountain Dresdnerhutte, an
atmospheric 100 year old mountain hut with 140 dormitory beds and
five-star views - not to mention first tracks in the morning. The tiny
village of Gsteig has around two dozen hotels and pensions. At
Kruessbach there's a tiny draglift for kiddies, and 10 or so assorted
hotels and pensions.
