The Okanagan valley is one of the few areas worldwide to produce Icewine and it is available in the resort’s gourmet restaurants. The best chefs battle it out in the Magic of Dessert and Icewine competition held every year during the Festival.Sun Peaks is highly recommended as a family resort with the convenience of the village and ski area. The facilities for children are excellent overall and include a skating rink and tube park in the resort. There are plenty of snow-based activities from dog-sledging to snowmobiling. Non-skiers can enjoy a tour of the ski area in a Sno-Limo. Book through the Activities & Information Centre on 001 250 578 5542.
The resort has excellent childcare facilities. The Child Minding Centre (001 250 578 5433) takes children aged 6 months to 5 years for full of half days, 7 days a week. Play Safe Childcare Services (001 250 554 0342) will send a qualified child carer to your accommodation.
For stressed out Mums and Dads the spa at the Pinnacle Lodge (001 250 371 7376, www.pinnaclelodgesunpeaks.com) is well worth a visit.Wireless internet is available in the resort’s accommodation through Whispar. Or log on at the Vertical Juice & Smoothie Co while you sip a coffee.
