One of the striking features of Courmayeur is how many bars and restaurants offer free drinks and food to entice their customers. Bar Roma, a beautifully stone-walled bar full of ornate Italian furniture is a hive of activity around five o'clock and later at eight o'clock when they set out a lavish spread free-of-charge. It obviously works, as the place is always busy. The liveliest bars are probably the American and the next door cocktail bar Le Privé. There are two nightclubs in nearby Entreves, though the bus service unfortunately finishes around midnight.
