You don’t need to hike to the top of the mountain to find expert terrain. An estimated 50% of the runs are suitable for advanced skiers and boarders.

The mountain favours stronger skiers and snowboarders – especially in Saddle Basin, with its clutch of challenging chutes, and natural quarterpipes including Bullet, Shooter and Super Pipe.

Motatapu Chutes and Powder Bowl chutes are also big attractions for hard-core skiers and riders. There are long, scenic cruising runs like Outer Limits, and ungroomed descents like Sundance. Private lessons for advanced skiers and riders are available in the Motatapu Chutes (once their ability level has been assessed).
