The local airport is at Bozeman, 50 miles (80 km) north on Interstate 191, which runs alongside the Gallatin River toward Yellowstone National Park 18 miles (29 km) to the south. Transfer time is one hour, although with the state’s unique “reasonable and prudent” unrestricted daytime speed limit, it could be even quicker. Reasonably priced shuttle transfers are available. Bozeman airport has a direct service from several international U.S. airports including Denver and Los Angeles. The closest international airport is Salt Lake City, approximately six hours away by road. There is no rail link to Big Sky.
