Killington

New England inns built around the 1840s and offering high-standard accommodations. Most lodgings options—hotels, condos, motels, B&Bs, and country inns—are situated a drive or shuttle bus-ride away from the slopes down Killington Road or on Route 4.
The many 19th century inns vary in price and not all accept young children. Red Clover Inn is an upmarket inn but does not accept children under 12, the Vermont Inn accepts children aged six and over, while children aged 14 and under stay free at the popular Cortina Inn. The inns offer day rates and packages including half-board options with gourmet dinners. The Inn of the Six Mountains and Mountain Meadows Lodge offer good accommodation in well-appointed condos and being larger than most inns they have better facilities for families and larger ski parties.
There are around 18,000 beds within a 30-mile (50-km) radius of the resort. Guests can book through www.killington.com, or call the Central Reservations number at 800-621-MTNS. It’s open from 8:00 am to 9:00 pm. There are numerous 2–7 day packages on offer, together with ski lessons or more advanced ski clinics if required. Prices range from under US$70 a night to US$100 or more, but check whether the Vermont state tax (9%) is in the quoted price—and remember to allow for gratuities.
