It’s an easy 42 miles (72 km) by car from the Reno/Tahoe International Airport Valley, along Interstate 80 (open in all weather) and it takes just one hour until you reach the single Squaw Valley Road that takes you into Olympic Valley. From Tahoe (5 miles/8 km away) or Truckee (8 miles/12 km) follow Highway 89. Sacramento lies 110 miles (177 km) away, and San Francisco 195 miles (314 km). There are daily shuttles from Reno (40 miles/64 km away) and Lake Tahoe, and rental cars and S.U.V.s (sports utility vehicles) are also available through Squaw Valley Central Reservations. The daily shuttle buses from Reno and South Lake Tahoe hotels cost only US$5 round trip per person!
