Taos has excellent ski schools and its instructors are second to none
—indeed, Ski Magazine named Olympic Gold Medallist and Taos Valley Ski
Instructor Deb Armstrong one of three “Instructors of the Year”.
There
are two different ski schools in the resort. The Ernie Blake Ski School
and Taos Ski Valley Children’s Ski School are located in the main base
area (the children’s ski school is about five minutes’ walk from the
base in its own building). Lessons are at 9:45 am or 1:45 pm for two
hours, and children’s daycare is at 8:00 am every day. Eight is the
upper limit on ski group size and the minimum age for daycare is six
weeks. So long as they are potty trained, any child can attend ski
classes. Children are supervised all day.
