Snow Reports

Great skiing or boarding is as much about good conditions as a good ski resort. Ultimate-ski.com snow reports provide updated details of snow and skiing conditions free of charge to all our users. Check our snow reports before you book, check out our snow reports before you fly, or if you are like us, check-out the snow reports of your favourite ski resorts at least three times a day – you can almost feel you are there! PS. It’s not advisable to check out the ultimate-ski snow reports in the summer as snow needs the cold to be snow.

Our snow reports have been gathered from all our featured ski resorts.

Here are snow reports for a selection of top ski resorts. To go to snow reports for all our other ski resorts, use the drop-down on the left.

Snow falls in soft crystals of infinite variety, but as the pioneering avalanche researcher Monty Atwater writes, "snow seems averse to being studied.  When it is poked or disturbed or manhandled in any way, it changes, quicker than a chameleon, from one kind of snow to another, leaving the observer baffled." more...

Weather systems in middle latitudes generally travel from west to east. Consequently, northwestern Europe receives air that has crossed the Atlantic, gathering moisture as it does so. The ocean is warmer than the land in winter and cooler than the land in summer, so Atlantic weather systems produce wet climates with cool summers and mild winters. This type of climate affects the western Pyrenees and the mountains of western Norway, but it does not extend very far into the Alps. more...

North America is big and so too are its weather systems. There are many depressions capable of delivering very heavy snow alternating with high-pressure systems that bring clear skies and low temperatures. more...
