Non-stop flights from London to Salt Lake City give UK skiers easier access to the top Utah resorts.

Non-stop flights from London to Salt Lake City from 1st Jan 2020 give UK skiers much easier access to top Utah ski resorts, such as Park City, Deer Valley, Snowbird and Alta.

Utah claims to have the 'greatest snow on earth' but for UK-based skiers it's fabulous snow has been hard to reach, because during the ski season there were no non-stop flights from the UK to Salt Lake City, the main gateway airport for ski resorts like Park City, Deer Valley, Alta, Snowbird, Solitude, Brighton, Sundance and Snowbasin.

But from 1st January 2020 that all changes, because Delta Airlines is recommencing its non-stop London Heathrow to Salt Lake City (LHR - SLC) winter service. There will be between 4 and 7 non-stop direct flights every week throughout the season, cutting flight times to about 10 hours and 30 minutes. And transfer times from Salt Lake City International airport to the actual ski resorts tend to be very short.

Park City (which has now expanded to include The Canyons) is the USA's largest ski area with 7,300 acres, but in good traffic conditions it's only about 45 minutes’ drive from the airport. And Deer Valley, one of the world's most exclusive and luxurious ski resorts, is just 5 minutes further down the road.

Snowbird, with its legendary “steep'n'deep” powder is a must-visit destination for advanced skiers, but it’s also less than an hour from Salt Lake City airport provided it’s not snowing heavily.  And about 15 minutes further up Little Cottonwood Canyon, and sharing the same challenging ski area is Alta, the renowned skiers-only resort.

Solitude and Brighton are in the valley in between Park City/Deer Valley and Snowbird/Alta (by special arrangement, you can ski between them), and they are also within 50 minutes drive of Salt Lake City airport.

Heading North from the airport is the Olympic resort of Snowbasin. Again the transfer takes under an hour.  In the opposite direction is Sundance, famous for its film festival started by Robert Redford. It's also within 90 minutes of the airport.

So take advantage of the new non-stop winter season flights between Heathrow and Salt Lake City, and ski all of them.
