Accommodation in Val d’Isere

Val d’Isere offers a wide range of ski accommodations including over 40 hotels, hundreds of chalets and numerous self-catered apartments. The old village centre is both attractive and convenient, as it borders the bottom of the slopes. The suburbs stretch out a long way but the free ski bus service is very efficient. Even further out are hamlets like Le Fornet, Le Laisinant, and La Daille connected by ski lifts to the ski area.

Hotels in Val d’Isere

Val d’Isere Luxury Hotels

Most of the luxury hotels are concentrated in the centre of Val d’Isere. The 5-star Hotel Les Barmes De l’Ours is next to the Bellevarde Express and has an indoor swimming pool, a spa and a wellness centre. The 5-star Le Yule Hotel & Spa is actually at the foot of the piste and you can ski to its door. The 5-star Hotel Christiana is slightly further away from the lifts and slopes but closer to the centre of the resort and is equally luxurious.  Hotel Avenue Lodge (5-star) is also in the heart of the resort and consistently gets superb ratings from guests. There are several good 4-star hotels but Hotel Tsanteleina and L’Aigle des Neiges probably get the best reviews. They are both central.

Club Med Val d’Isere

Club Med Val d’Isere is in a ski-in/ski-out location near the Legettaz lift in the centre of the village. It has a swimming pool and spa and offers all-inclusive luxury family holidays for a relatively low price, given what’s included – not only full-board accommodation with gourmet food and an open bar but also ski passes, ski lessons, childcare and activities like yoga sessions. Val d’Isere mid-range and budget hotels

Of the 3 star hotels, Hôtel Avancher, Hotel Kandahar, and La Savoyarde are all close to the centre and consistently get good reviews. There are also some good budget hotels near the centre such as the 2-star Le Kern and La Galise. Guests wanting more peace (and quick access to the highest slopes) should look at the highly rated 3-star Chalet Hotel du Fornet in the hamlet of Le Fornet which is about 3.5km from the centre of Val d’Isere but has its own lift and bus stop. Le Laisinant, Le Cret and Le Joseray are other popular outlying and about 17 minutes, 12 minutes and 5 minutes walk from the centre respectively although most visitors will use the efficient free ski-bus service to get into and out of town. A well-rated 3-star hotel between the centre and le Cret (about a 4-minute walk into town) is Le Bellier and a good budget hotel in Le Cret is the 2-star Langley Hotel Grand Nord. Some of the chalet hotels in the chalet section below are also good value.

Apartments in Val d’Isere

Chalet Skadi offers luxury 5-star apartments with access to a sauna and swimming pool. One down from these in facilities, if not services, are the slopeside Les Chalets Du Jardin Alpin near the centre and the Residence Pierre & Vacances Les Balcons De Bellevarde in La Daille which are classified as ApartHotels because they offer meal delivery services for when you don’t want to cook. Also good is the 3-star Residence la Daille. There are more than 100 other self-catering apartments and chalets to choose from, however, including plenty of simple budget options, especially in La Daille and Le Cret.
