Getting to Verbier by Rail

From Geneva airport to Verbier – take an InterRegio train, direction Brig, changing at Martigny for the regional train to Le Chable, 9km from Verbier, then follow signs to the Post Bus station for the 25 minutes bus ride from Le Chable (821m) to Verbier (1500m) or ride up on the bubble lift (you will have to buy your ski pass first or purchase a one-way ticket for the lift). Journey time is approximately three hours. If you don’t want to wait for connecting trains and buses, you can speed up the journey by taking a taxi from either Martigny or La Chable direct to your accommodation in Verbier – book one online through Ski-Lifts.

From Zurich airport to Verbier – take an InterCity service, direction Brig, changing at Visp, direction Geneva Airport, and again at Martigny for the regional train to Le Chable, then the Post Bus service from Le Chable to Verbier. Journey time is approximately four hours 50 minutes, and there are three changes.

There is also a gondola from Le Chable to Verbier to ease day-visitor road traffic into the village.

Driving to Verbier

If driving from Geneva airport follow the A1E25/E62 motorway, direction Lausanne, then the A9/E62 Autoroute du Rhone (toll road) via Montreux at the eastern edge of Lake Geneva as far as Martigny EXIT ’21-Martigny-Fully’ and follow signs for ‘Grand-Saint Bernard, Verbier’ (route 21) from Martigny to Verbier.
