Colorado Suffering from Staff Shortage 23-03-08

Despite Colorado enjoying a busy start to the year, many resort workers are leaving their jobs prior to the hectic Easter period. The opening two months of this year saw over 5.5 million visitors to Colorado?s resorts, meaning that a good Easter period could see a new record number of visitors in a season.

Following the introduction of new federal rules limiting the number of work visas that can be granted, companies have turned to employing visiting students. However, many students visas expire on April 1st, and a large proportion of students are reportedly leaving their jobs prior to that date in order to travel around America prior to returning home.

Other employees still in the resorts have been asked to work extra hours to cover for the shortage.
