Spanish Courts Reject Plans for New Ski Resort 10-04-08

A Spanish court has rejected plans for a new ski resort in the north of the country. The resort would have been built in the San Glorio mountain in the Leon province, though according to press reports, the court feared that climate change would render the resort economically unviable. The resort?s proposed location next to a nature reserve further weakened the application.

Had the proposals been accepted, it would have offered 55 kilometres of piste at an altitude of above 1,500 metres.
