Sugarloaf to Improve Snowmaking Facilities 27-04-08

Sugarloaf are to make significant improvements to their base area and snowmaking facilities in time for next season. Since being acquired by Boyne Resorts in August 2007, Sugarloaf has invested $9 million in upgrades, and is to invest $5 million prior to the start of the 2008-09 season. Most of the $5 million will be invested in improvements to the snowmaking system, and as a result of the greater number of snow guns and more water intakes, the resort’s artificial snowmaking capacity to increase by nearly 25 per cent.

The rest of the money is to be spent on improvements to the on mountain signposting, upgrades to accommodation and new lift and ski patrol cabins.
