Telluride to Extend Vertical Drop with New Chair 07-05-08

Telluride Ski Resort is to install a new chairlift which will serve the Revelation Bowl, giving the resort one of the greatest vertical drops in the US. The new Leitner-Poma quad chairlift will increase the ski area’s vertical drop to nearly 4,000 vertical feet, offering skiers and riders a choice of ridgelines, rock features and steep pitches, whilst the Palmyra Basin will also be accessible via a short hike.

Construction work on the new left will commence this summer, with the base station to be situated in a large flat area at the base of Revelation Bowl and the top station at the base of the Hillary Step. The cost of the lift has not been disclosed but is the latest in a series of improvements designed to expand Telluride’s ski area.
