St Anton / Apres-ski
No skiing day is complete without a visit to at least one of five nearby après-ski bars located on the home trail from Galzig or Gampen to
St. Anton:
For traditional Austrian style apres ski try Sennhutte with DJ Didi Diesel and a predominantly German-speaking crowd (roof top visible just off the main piste almost hidden from view) or continue towards the village and a bit farther down on the right is the mighty Mooserwirt, which is a must and where a willingness to dance on tables
is practically an entrance requirement.
Across the piste from Mooserwirt is Griabli which has a talented live band playing rock, soul and blues most days in season from around 4pm. A bit higher up (and most easily reached by sking down from Gampen is Krazy Kanguruh which is popular with seasonaires and full of partygoers.
Not so obviously spotted and next to the ski museum is Underground on the Piste which is far more sedate and a good place to chill out and relax away from the crowd. There’s no live music, but it’s a good place to relax over a drink after skiing or for dinner in an uncrowded private house party setting.
Off the mountain, the partying continues in the centre of the village at Piccadilly Bar, which has live music daily. For those just wanting to relax and chill out there are many quieter cafes and bars in which to wind down after a day’s skiing. The sunny terrace at the Hotel Alte Poste is a popular hang-out late in the season when the weather warms up.
The hugely popular Undergound Bar & Restaurant closed its doors for the last time in May 2004. After more than 20 years as one of St Anton's most popular apres ski venues, it will be sadly missed.

Krazy Kangaruh
Founded by ex Swedish ski racer Gunnar Munthe in 1974 the Krazy Kanguruh is legend for full-on apres ski bar with sun terrace pumping beer and party atmosphere from 3pm until after dark.

Mooserwirt
Rumored to sell more beer than any other bar in Austria the Mooserwirt is St Anton's best attended on-mountain apres ski venue and best sampled inside and out on sun terrace (or in the Igloo) for maximum enjoyment. Also a popular lunch stop.

Sennhütte
Superb apres ski with a predominantly German-speaking clientele and popular Didi Diesel DJ serving up music and abundant humour even if you cannot understand German. Sennhutte's is a traditional mountain hut with a big sun terrace and busy at lunch times.
