Whistler Blackcomb ski area
But it’s not the just the extent of these two massive side-by-side mountains—encompassing over 8,171 acres (3,307 ha) of ski terrain, with 200 marked trails and lots of unmarked ones—it’s the sheer diversity. Steep powder chutes, challenging mogul fields, secluded tree skiing and miles of pistes groomed every night attract skiers and snowboarders of all levels.
There truly is skiing here for every standard and every mood — bowls and glaciers, piste and powder — and the many high-speed ski lifts make it quite feasible to choose to ski one mountain in the morning, take in some lunch, and ski the other in the afternoon. The proposed cable car link between the main mountain restaurants on Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains will make it possible to switch between the best offerings of each Mountain in one day without descending to the village.
There's more than 17 miles (27 kms) of cross-country trails throughout the village, including the Lost Lake area, the Chateau Whistler Golf Course, and Nicklaus North Golf Course. Rental equipment and trail maps for cross-country skiing are available at Lost Lake Hut. Contact the Whistler Information Center 604-932-2394 for further information.
