ROCHEBRUNETerrasse du Mas
In the main block, top of Chamois lift/shoebox/Caboche. Fairly basic but convenient. Best
dish Carbonara. Salads good. Slow service at busy times.
Caboche
Behind children’s ski school. Much better than Terrasse and quite close. Good
salads. Chicken nuggets with chips for children.
Le Matou
Bottom of Petit Rochebrune. Friendly owners who used to run Rond Point in the
summer. Good for a hot chocolate.
Supermegeve
Top of the Rochebrune cable car with better views. Self-service restaurant has
standard menus but superior to Terrasse Du Mas. Also has waited restaurant which is rather
good. Barbecue outside in good weather. Good Tarte Tatin.
La Forestiere
On the way to Alpette. Nice ambience, mixed reports on the food. The plat du jour is usually
good. Owners very friendly.
L’Alpette
Open fire. Good for an expensive blow out. Snow mobile taxi for
pedestrians. Very good patisserie. Cosy inside for hot drink during cold weather.
La Babotch
Bottom of Rosiere green run to the left of Le Javen. Reasonably priced, serves
food all day, nice ambience.
Le Javen
Bottom of Petit Fontaine chair. Friendly service. Limited room inside. Best dish: Pella.
Very good omelettes and good café au lait. There's also a kiosk with
deckchairs where you can get drinks and sandwiches cheaply in good weather.
Le Radaz
On the way back from Cote 2000. Under new ownership this season but was known for the
best value on the mountain, with excellent food. Tartiflette, Spaghetti bolognaise and Diots (Savoyarde sausages cooked in the oven) were all
very good, with good omelettes for children. You need to get there early as it fills up quickly. Late season the deck is a
suntrap.
Cote 2000
In the car park. Expensive and rude. English speakers not welcome.
Altiport
You can ski to this but it’s a walk back, or get the bus. Good food and friendly, with reasonable prices. Plat du jour is usually excellent.
JAILLET
Auberge du Christomet
Good food and service. Easy for pedestrians. Not cheap but excellent food and fantastic views. Savoyarde specialities extremely
good.

La Giettaz
There are three restaurants at the foot of La Giettaz.
MONT D’ARBOIS/St Nicholas
L’Igloo
At the top of the bubble. Large self-service, full of English. No ambience.
Ideal
Smart, used to be very expensive and pretentious but now less so and with
excellent food. Book at weekends. Great sun terrace.
Les Mandarins
Expensive, nice ambience with an open fire. Mixed reports of the food but it can be excellent.
Le Rosay
By Mont Joux chair. Self- service, friendly staff, basic food – soup is the best
dish, with home made bread. Avoid the overcooked chicken.
Éspace du Mont Joux
Top of the Mont Joux chair. Good food (spaghetti's the best option), reasonably priced and good
service. Fantastic views and a welcome from three St Bernard dogs. There's also a drink and
snack kiosk.
La Raviere
On the way to Communailles, in the trees, tricky to find. Three course meal (set menu, excellent value).
The place to go when you want a long lunch and ski home gently afterwards. Booking in advance essential,
no credit cards accepted.
Freddy
Top of Mont Joux. Soup, hot drinks and snacks. They also allow picnics.
Alpage
Bottom of Communailles. Excellent food. Some of the starters are a meal in
themselves.
Relais du Communailles
Suntrap balcony with splendid views of Mont Blanc. Good food,
but sometimes slow service and a bit noisy from the nearby lift.
Le Gouet
Very friendly, family run. Best dishes: Croute du Gouet – very cheesey, 2 fried
eggs and very filling, or Pella (Savoyarde speciality).
Chez Ernestine
On the ridge above the Croix de Christ bowl. Access by blue track from
Mt Joux, or reds from top of Croix de Christ. Fantastic views. Short (but good) menu. Probably best value in the area.
