There is a lot of excellent off-piste skiing in Megève but opportunities for advanced skiers on-piste are more limited. The Women?s downhill run at Cote 2000 is a great adrenaline rush, especially as it is kept very well groomed.

Megève comes into its own for intermediates, with long winding runs through the trees and plenty of picturesque spots to stop for a coffee or lunch.

Beginner
Megève is a good place to learn to ski. Not only does it have good beginner and green slopes but there is plenty to do in and around the village should you decide to have an afternoon off. The slopes are also very quiet outside of New Year and half term.

Boarding & freestyle
Megève is best for beginner and intermediate boarders but advanced riders can keep busy in the two snow parks (Mont Joux or Combloux) or there is excellent off-piste at Cote 2000, Mont Joux and Mont Jolie.

Off-piste
The off-piste is very good in Megève and is often left unskied for weeks at a time outside of peak season. The majority of the off-piste is not particularly avalanche prone and there is plenty of tree skiing. Care needs to be taken though at Cote 2000 and Mont Joly which are steeper and more avalanche prone.

Off the mountain
Village
Megève is a charming and traditional resort with a strong Savoyarde flavour. The centre is pedestrianised around the medieval church and horse-drawn sleighs are a common mode of transport throughout the winter.
