The street leading from the slopes into Saas Fee must have been built with après-ski in mind. Lined with restaurants and bars that catch the last of the sun, this is where you’ll find the late afternoon action. Nesti’s Ski Bar is frequently packed and probably the most popular of the lot; the Iglu Bar is a good indoor venue; Zur Mühle, right by the slopes, has a busy terrace and the Black Bull pumps out some lively tunes well beyond the confines of its sundeck.

At the last count there were 10 bars, 4 discos and around 60 restaurants in the village – not bad for a place of this size – and there are also plenty of tea rooms and bakeries for a more calorific après-ski experience. Beneath the Hotel Dom, Popcorn’s bar/shop - a popular snowboarder haunt – transforms into a lively bar and disco after hours.
