There are several top-to-bottom descents for strong intermediates, all of
which give an excellent sense of the high mountain terrain and scale - from 3,500m top to 1,800m bottom.
There aren’t endless kilometres of piste to bash at Saas Fee, but
for strong intermediates the steep-enough pitch of most of the area’s
red runs, combined with excellent snow quality, will appeal. And if you
choose to take lifts to the top of the resort and descend all the way
back to base, there are several alternatives available to you, all of
which give an excellent sense of the high mountain terrain and scale of
descent - from 3,500m top to 1,800m bottom, taking in some of Saas’s
sweeping, wide red runs - 10b ‘Panorama’ and 6 ‘Moräne’ – along the
way.
