There’s a good range of eating in Saas Fee, from pizza to gourmet. La Ferme, a small old chalet, does pizza; Le Vieux Chalet has Swiss traditional fare in similar surroundings. Spagetteria Da Rasso has pizza and spagetti on the main street; don’t forget you’re just a few kilometers from Italy. Hotel Hohnegg's award winning restaurant is particularly good for vegetarian food, which in this part of the world usually means cheese, by the kilo. The Hohnegg makes a refreshing, refined change.

Up in the woods is the rustic Waldhaus Bodmen, with great food, cosy traditional interior and a pet corner (behind glass) where you can watch guinea pigs and rabbits. The best restaurant in the region, with one Michelin star, is the Fletschhorn, a 30-minute walk from town or a 10-minute taxi ride. Its nouvelle cuisine is considered some of the best in Switzerland. Make reservations early and expect to pay from €85–€115 per head. It's also a 15 room hotel.
