Two guides offices run similar regular tours and off piste days in Saas Fee. You can either turn up and join a group or, with enough people/funds, take a guide for a private group. Strong intermediates and above should budget for a day’s guiding or more to get the most out of a visit to Saas Fee.

Try Mountain Life mountaineering office (www.mountain-life.ch - German-only website), Tel. 41 (0)27 957 44 64, for off piste skiing, ski touring, heli skiing and other non-ski mountain activities. Weismies (www.weissmies.ch - also German-only) have a similar programme to Mountain Life.

At the Swiss Ski and Snowboard school, one-hour private lessons cost SFR59, two-hour group lessons SFR44 and one-week group lessons SFR164. Eskimos snowboard school charges SFR 60 for one-hour private lessons, SFR115 for three-day group lessons.
