The nearest international airports are Reno, Sacramento, and San Francisco. Sacramento is 85 miles (137 km) away, around 1.5 hours’ drive, Reno is 72 miles (116 km), which takes around one and a half hours along Interstate 395 south through Carson City, Nevada, to U.S. Highway 50 West, and San Francisco is 170 miles (274 km), around three hours’ drive along Interstate 80 east to U.S. Highway 50 and east through Placerville. An airport shuttle, the Tahoe Casino Express, takes you from Reno to your destination. There’s also a free daily shuttle bus service from South Lake Tahoe to the mountain from 40 locations in the town.
